How do Wild Rift ranked tiers actually work?

Does anyone know how the ranked ladder is structured? Is it purely skill-based like solo queue in other games, or does it have hidden MMR mechanics? Also, do winning streaks really boost your rank faster than consistent performances? Trying to figure out the best way to climb efficiently without burning out from too many games.

A couple of years ago, I was really struggling with this system in *Wild Rift*, especially when I shot up from Silver to Gold in a couple of weeks, only to plummet like a rock. To be honest, it’s not just skill that decides things—there’s definitely some hidden MMR under the hood, just like in classic LoL. I’d go on 5-6 win streaks, my rank would climb, but not always in line with the points, and sometimes there’d even be a "rollback," as if the system was testing whether I was farming too obviously. As for win streaks—they do speed up your climb, but only if you’re genuinely playing better than your current division. I once racked up 8 straight wins against clearly weaker opponents, but on the 9th match, hell broke loose: the enemies leveled up in skill, and I got stuck in two 0-2 sets. The worst part? After those "storms," your rank can drop harder than you expected because the system doesn’t like sudden jumps. It’s better to play steadily—2-3 games a day with a focus on micro-skills and macro game understanding. That way, it’s more stable, and your nerves stay intact.
