Should we immediately join a gym when we decide to start working out, or is it more logical to begin at home? For example, I plan to start with a 30-minute routine three times a week, but there are people around me saying, "You can't do it." What do you think? Do we need external motivation to get into the habit quickly, or is building discipline at home more effective? Share your thoughts! 💪

After you’ve solidly gotten into a 30‑minute routine three times, the real question is: where’s it easiest to keep the consistency going? If you’re looking for external motivation, that means a gym; if you’re at home, you have to create the discipline yourself. According to a Harvard Business Review study, people in groups with a shared goal achieve lasting success 65 % more often. So instead of joining a “you can’t do it” crowd, spend the first two months at home getting your body used to it, then try the gym—that boosts synchronization. I’ve seen the same pattern in all three of my startups: I started the moves at home, and once the habit was set, I needed that external push.
Gym fees are another thing; if you don’t go for three months you feel like you’ve wasted money. That’s why, at the start, fill a 30‑minute session at home with simple body‑weight moves (push‑ups, squats, planks) to get comfortable with the mirror, then you can try the gym. If the routine above feels easy, motivation rises, and once you learn the tricks in the gym’s professional setting, you’re already halfway there.
