We really need to focus on action/adventure, honestly. Why? Look, man, drama and comedy are already overused genres in Turkish cinema. They even have formulaic scripts. Meanwhile, action movies are a more exciting field both technologically and visually. Instead of sending money abroad to foreign brands, we can produce quality content with local action films and create a cultural brand.
If we think about why the industry should invest in this area… Recent “Kahpe Bizans”-type movies are getting a bit stale. The action scenes we see in other countries could be blended with character development. For example, if you take the horse from “Mucize” and turn it into a modern thriller‑action story, you’d end up with a production that can appeal both domestically and internationally. That way we wouldn’t be limited to the local market; we could expand abroad as well.
