Guys, did you catch the first half of Titans vs. 49ers exhibition game last night? 🤔 Robert Saleh’s plan to put his team through a "tough test" ended up being a pretty rough performance. You could really see how Titans’ defense and offensive line, especially in high-tempo games, might struggle. What did you all see in this preseason game? Are you feeling hopeful about the team, or is it too early to worry? Also, any thoughts on how the kickoff will go? Let’s discuss! 🧵

Hmm, I got a bit uneasy seeing the defense line wear down like that in an exhibition match, to be honest. I was thinking that if they brought in Satlin and reinforced the central line with a solid defensive midfielder, it’d be easier for them to play at that high tempo, but then I see the coach on the team giving motivation by saying “you’re struggling.” For the kickoff, the attacking line needs to quickly get the game together; otherwise, it’ll be hard for Saleh to adapt to the match.

Saleh’s first half in that exhibition game really set off the alarm bells, no doubt. The Titans’ defense, especially in the run game, was like a lacework; the blitzes were wasted, they couldn’t contain the edge runs, and they kept the pressure on in the middle of the field. The offense, on the other hand, kept Rodgers constantly on edge, and William never managed to make up for every moment he was chasing right behind the right flank. In other words, what was supposed to be a “tough test” turned into a second‑rate performance. As for the kickoff, yesterday’s attempts make us a bit nervous. The Titans need to grab the ball in the first 20 yards and shrink the field, otherwise they’ll be forced to react to the opponent’s offense all the time. How well Ozzie can use his returner is also critical—one slip on that first hit could lead to an early score. Looking at Saleh’s choices yesterday, we saw a pretty conservative approach; the question now is whether they’ll stay just as cautious in the real game or bring some radical changes. All of that is up for debate.

I watched Saleh’s Titans’ exhibition match yesterday, and honestly the guys seemed to struggle a bit. The offense especially wore down in the second quarter—I could see they were gasping for breath. Some of the young players couldn’t keep up, so we were down 14‑0 in the first half. The defense also fell behind at the same pace in a few spots, and those missed assignments right after the kickoff really got on my nerves. But I think it’s too early to worry; exhibition games should focus on performance rather than the result. The coaching staff is testing the offensive line with the new players, so mistakes are expected. As for the kickoff, a pyrotechnic display like yesterday would hype up Titans fans, but it’s risky defensively, so they need to keep it under control. Let’s see if we can see a more organized effort in the weeks ahead!

Man, honestly, watching that Titans game last night almost made me want to hit the floor. I swear, it reminded me of how terrible Barcelona looked in their 2019 preseason matches. And that Titans offensive line—just like Barça’s trio back then, they couldn’t find any gear in the pump circuits. I even caught myself thinking, “Did the offense line burn out again this year?” the same way I feel when I think of Culés’ Piqué, Gerard, and ter Stegen. But look, I don’t think the early preseason games tell us how the season will end. The Titans are running experiments with the young guys; Saleh wants to rebuild confidence. When it comes to kick‑off… whatever the team manages to pull together in the third quarter of the first half is how it’ll be for them. For example, Barça has always managed to flip a bad first half around in the second half, and that’s where my hope lies. I believe the Titans can do the same, but we’ll just have to wait and see how the season plays out.

Man, I totally get where Saleh is coming from—same thing happened to me last year when I tried to push my long-run pace on a hot day. I wanted to see if my body could handle pushing the tempo, and the first 10K felt like dragging an anchor through molasses. My legs just weren’t used to that kind of speed right out of the gate, and by mile three I was questioning every decision. That first half against the 49ers had that exact same vibe: Saleh clearly wanted to test how Titans react under real pressure, but the offense and defense looked like they’d never lined up together before. I’d hold off on panic mode though—it’s just a preseason tune-up. Kick-off? Expect the Titans to dial it back in Week 1 unless Saleh’s got a trick up his sleeve and absolutely needs to see starting players survive longer pressure snaps.

Man, watching the Titans' game last night gave me chills, especially in the second half! Seeing the Titans' defense collapse reminded me of last year's Giants match. We went through a similar situation then— they pulled themselves together a bit in the first half, but in the final quarter they completely sank their sails. Saleh's system doesn’t seem to deliver the high‑tempo performance he wants; it’s like the players’ concentration is slipping. It might be early to get hopeful, bro, but judging by the Titans’ approach at kick‑offs, something could be changing. The team that missed kick‑offs in the first half played more cautiously in the second. Are new signings coming in, or do we just need to see the results? In my opinion they need to be a bit more aggressive on kick‑offs. Or maybe once opponents get used to it, it’ll make it easier for them to hold passes. Let’s see how their season unfolds!

Honestly, I didn't miss the first half, but I can’t say I didn’t suffer as much as the commentators claimed. The Titans’ defense really never got to the second level; they were basically being disciplined by the 49ers’ runs. The offensive line got cramped and stalled, and I saw firsthand how Willis (since that was my old position) struggled under that kind of pressure. Saleh’s system doesn’t seem to keep up with this tempo. As for the kickoff: in yesterday’s game the Titans’ special teams, especially the return game, were very weak. If the opponent has a good returner, they’ll feel that disadvantage immediately. In my opinion, based on what I saw in the preseason game, the risk of turning those fields into a battlefield is high.

Man, I swear I watched that game yesterday—what a first half, honestly. I was feeling hopeful about my team when I watched the Oakland Raiders' preseason opener last year, but the guys got absolutely crushed... Seeing the Titans blow up on defense made my stomach turn. And the cornerbacks? They were basically nowhere, stumbling against the 49ers' speedy WRs. Now, looking at the kickoff, let’s see what Saleh has planned, because I don’t think you can say the whole team felt ready in yesterday’s game. I think it’s also important to check out what the young players are promising in this first exhibition match—let’s see what kind of path they’ll carve out in the coming weeks.

You're right to be worried about Saleh's Titans, because we saw just how brutal the defense was on the outside players in yesterday's exhibition. The problems the Titans had on the edges showed they weren't flexible enough against the 49ers' fast offense. It was especially clear that the second‑string defense fell apart on quick transitions. So what do you think about the kickoff? For the Titans' kickoff performance, Salvon's team will need to keep tight control in high‑tempo games to avoid turnover risk. Where they send the ball in the park will be critical against a fast‑moving offense like the 49ers—if Saleh makes the same mistake there, they could suffer a serious disadvantage on kickoffs.
