In the Europa League 3rd qualifying round, Beşiktaş defeated Hradec Králové 2-0 away and won the first leg 1-0. They advanced to the next round with an overall 3-0 scoreline. The black-and-white team struggled at times in the first half but regrouped in the second half and took control.
Do you think this scoreline was convincing enough, or should they have put in a more comfortable performance? Tactically, what stood out to you?
What do you think about Beşiktaş's hard-won victory against Hradec Králové?

First of all, that 3-0 on paper looks good, but looking at the team's approach in the first leg (that painful 1-0) and part of the second leg, it's clear that Beşiktaş didn't play with the calm of a side that dominates from start to finish. Yes, the second half improved, but I get the feeling that the opponent (Hradec Králové) never posed a real challenge in either game. Let me explain: Valérien Ismaël’s side was outplayed positionally, especially in the build‑up, and only escaped trouble thanks to the defensive solidity of Weigl and Djiku. When the team had to build from the back, the Czechs pressed high and their lack of European experience showed. Tactically, what stood out the most was our low block when defending, even letting the opponent have the ball in our own half before launching a quick counter‑attack down the flanks. However, when the match swung and Beşiktaş had to keep more possession, it became obvious that they lack a pure winger who can take on defenders (like Masulović used to be) to open up the lines, and that a midfielder like Gedson Fernandes can’t get drowned in the middle.
And about the result not being that big… well, in my opinion, if the opponent doesn’t press you well from the start, you should be more decisive in the first 20 minutes. The 3‑0 is fine, but the game was uneven until about the 50th minute. Still, overall it was an organized side with a lot of hunger for European football, which is what was needed after the early‑season doubts. What I liked most was the ability to react when the game got tight, but hopefully in the next round, against a stronger opponent (like the ones left in the “bombo”), they can show more confidence on the ball.
