Comparing Guirassy to Rudi Völler’s infamous 90s antics might seem odd, but both changed the fate of the league with mid-season surges. Völler had a hot streak too—five games, two goals—but Guirassy’s stats are downright brutal: 15+ goal contributions carrying the team almost single-handedly, proving he’s Stuttgart’s brightest star in years. Yeah, his teammates help, but the guy’s finishing and positioning? Unnervingly clean.
If we’re talking about another player, Wirtz’s entire season being overshadowed by Guirassy is rough. Both bring innovation, but Wirtz’s assists and playmaking can’t match Guirassy’s goal-scoring. I’d argue Guirassy deserves MVP this season—but let’s not ignore the rest of the team; Mittelstädt’s rise on the wings, for example, wouldn’t mean much if he couldn’t deliver the ball to Guirassy’s feet.
Haha, this guy just lost it! I also saw something weirdly similar this season in Ligue 1. Last year, Hatem Ben Arfa was barely contributing to goals directly, but this season, it's like wherever he runs on the pitch, there's a goal. If it weren't for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rotating on the left wing, his impact could have been even greater.
But let's talk about Guirassy; his stats this season are insane, especially for a Stuttgart team that relies so little on defense. Clearly, he's doing whatever he pleases both inside and outside the box. Let's not just call him a "strong striker"—his positioning intelligence is top-tier. When I played as a footballer, there were seasons when the ball felt like it was asking to be played, and Guirassy has that same vibe right now.
