Especially the away referee assignment has always been a topic of debate. Do you think this decision is fair? Or could there have been other names?

Man, I honestly can’t believe this. The funny thing is, we always said referee assignments for away games are always controversial, and now we get an Italian referee. I think UEFA needs to be a bit more transparent about this, otherwise the referee draw stays a mystery.
First off, for a match like Lyon‑Fener, they should consider geographic balance when picking the referee. Why do European referees always get the nod? I think the decision‑making process could be more diversified—maybe try a “neutral zone” system among referees. In the end, fairness isn’t just about a draw; the vibe matters too.
