I’ve actually been keeping a close eye on Batrakov; he put in a solid performance last season in the Russian Premier League. With his height and football IQ, he could be effective in midfield both defensively and offensively. It wouldn’t be a bad move for a transfer—what Tristan Vukčević calls a “small upgrade.”
But there’s a noteworthy caveat: there’s some concern about his injury history. He had an ankle issue back in February and was still in the recovery phase. We don’t know if Galatasaray is willing to take that risk or if he’s fully healed. I’m not trying to dismiss the transfer outright—he has potential—but I hope the yellow‑red side considers these kinds of risks carefully.
