Guys, looking at how Galatasaray spent this season, the numbers they're putting out are insane. They've announced nearly a billion liras in net profit to the KAP (Public Disclosure Platform). 🤯 Of course, these numbers also show how far ahead we are in the Süper Lig. Let's see how this money will be used. Thoughts naturally turn to transfers, investing in young talent, etc. What do you think they should do? Or should some of this money be used outside of football? 🤔 What do you think about how Galatasaray spent this season and their future plans? Share your thoughts, fellas!

Galatasaray's net profit figure isn't really surprising when you compare it to the flow of money directed into football. You always see this in football; a team's revenue affects everything from league rankings to transfer policy. For example, Real Madrid's transfer budget in recent years has always come from their economic stability. It makes sense for Galatasaray to shift this money away from basketball too, because no matter how fierce the competition in the SBL is, the real revenues come from football. Let's see if it will be invested in transfers or youth development, but when a team has that much money in its coffers, it would be irrational to keep it there anyway.

Galatasaray’s eye-opening figures have come again under Allenatore’s (Omerović) leadership, so it’s clear they’re taking financial supervision seriously, bro. I remember them almost making the Final Four in the EuroLeague last year, and we shouldn’t forget how they pulled that team out of a financial squeeze with this budget. Now, I don’t know where that 1 billion lira will go, but if there’s any move for the basketball operations, they should invest the most in the defense line—Çiğdem Badem needs it badly. I think most of the money will go to basketball, especially since they’re in the hunt for the EuroLeague every year. They could bring in a young pivot from Belgium or the Adriatic League to help win the rebounding battles, but it has to fit the coach’s system. If the money has to be spent outside basketball too, the best move would be infrastructure and facilities—like modernizing the Kartal basketball facility to attract future talents. But here’s the thing: after almost getting eliminated in the playoffs last year, how much of this is hype? Financial reports can sometimes lead to complacency. I was sure they’d dominate this year, but if they don’t improve on-court results, that money could go up in smoke in the long run.
