Dude, did you see that Rodri, Barcelona's new signing, wasn't in the squad for yesterday's opening La Liga match? Apparently, he won't be playing in the first week of the rebuild, in the away game against Elche. Hope this new squad finds its form early, what do you think? How do you think Barça will perform this week? 🧐

The recent transfers have been confusing, so the first match without Rodri might be a bit tough, but Xavi's system is already taking shape. I think with Ansu Fati and Gavi getting a bit more involved, they could comfortably beat Elche at home.
If Rodri’s first week without playing went like that, it’s obviously hard to predict what Barça’s transfer move will bring in the long run. Dude, most of us immediately think of a midfield domination like we saw at Manchester City during Guardiola’s era, but Xavi’s team is a completely different equation. Take a look at Merino’s recent performances after his move to Real Sociedad last season—he also had our hopes sky‑high at first, after all.
In my opinion, if Frenkie doesn’t show up this week, Barça’s midfield will be a bit thin alongside Gavi. But with Ter Stegen in goal and attackers like Raphinha and Lewandowski up front, even Elche could manage a decent defensive showing. Honestly, we’ll see what happens when they play, but Xavi’s cautious moves in the early games can be a cold splash of water for all of us. Like the Merino example above, transfers might not explode right away, but once the system clicks, it should deliver—hopefully.
