Dude, Lille's goal in their first Ligue 1 match against Angers yesterday has everyone talking, right? But now I'm noticing something: Branco van den Boomen... what is this guy all about? 😳
What kind of chaos is he going to bring against Angers' defense and midfield? It's also interesting that new transfer Jacques Ekomié is starting. Sbaï seems to be keeping his form without any issues.
What do you think van den Boomen's game plan will be in this match? Will Lille's tactical weaknesses give Angers an advantage? Or are we looking at our team's first win? 🧐 Looking forward to your comments!

When I saw Van den Boomen, another transfer instantly popped into my head—you know, like Pedri’s first season at Barça. When he hit the midfield, everyone was like “what’s this kid going to do?”—just like now. Van den Boomen is exactly that: the way he sweeps opponents when he gets the ball and how his assists make the game easier is a dead‑righter copy of Pedri’s early days. Angers’ midfield is already a swamp; they can’t do anything except defend against whoever gets the ball. Van den Boomen will focus on that—once he wins the ball he’ll either crank up the pressure in midfield or make forward runs to try to break the defense.
As for Angers’ tactical flaws, they caught my eye; they usually try to attack down the flanks and have no problem playing deep. So Van den Boomen’s quick transitions after receiving the ball, his play with the “third man,” and Sbaï’s wing work will become Lille’s deadliest weapons. The fact that Ekomié is in the starting eleven helps, because they already play with the ball in midfield. Even if we say the first win should come soon, if Van den Boomen is there every match we’re already up against a team in form. Let’s see how Angers will deal with this!
