Should Pep’s training always be high-intensity HIIT-style runs, or is classic long-distance endurance the priority? Or is combining both more effective? How can we meet City’s physical demands with a simple home routine before heading to the camp? What’s your general approach? If you’re applying it, what would you change?
What's the best training method for City?

For City football, endurance is key, but not just any endurance—game‑day stamina. Pep’s heavy HIIT sessions mimic match intensity, so I’d blend that with under‑2‑3 km tempo runs at game pace. Two to three times a week do explosive HIIT (45–60 s all‑out sprints with 30 s rest) for the Pep effect, then once a week an 8‑10 km tempo run at sub‑10 km pace to lock in the aerobic base.
At home, I stack 30‑minute circuits: 5 rounds of 8 burpees, 12 squat jumps, 15 m shuttle sprints, 30 s plank. It’s brutal but hits both power and endurance. Missed gym days? Stairs or hill sprints plus core—no excuses. If I could tweak anything, I’d cut the long slow runs (40 + min) since City’s game tempo rarely dips that low.
