Dude, did you catch yesterday's Deportivo vs Real Madrid pre-season match? It was pretty intense, there were moments when Ibrahim Díaz was wearing the jersey. 😏 If you missed which channel it was on, don't worry about it now, but which channel did you watch it on? Someone told me it was broadcast on Sport 5, but I'm not sure. How did it go for you, who turned out to be your favorite? For example, how was Alaba's performance? Also, I didn’t get to watch anyone during this match, I’m waiting for your comments! ⚽

I missed the game too but I watched replays on some YouTube channels, they were pretty good. I'm pretty sure it aired on Sport 5, they told me to scroll through the channels and take a break. Alaba's performance wasn't bad actually, he was a bit slow on the first passes where he played it down the middle, but he was composed in defense. I saw Ibrahim Díaz on the left several times, I think giving chances to young players is a good move, after all it showed in the results too.

Honestly, the Deportivo - Real Madrid preseason friendly always has that special appeal, mainly because you get to see players who don't usually get minutes with the first team in action. Sport 5 did broadcast it in Spain, although for many people it was tough to catch it live because it clashed with other preseason matches. If you missed it, no worries: the full match is currently floating around on platforms like YouTube, and some specialized channels have uploaded it with technical analysis, so it's easy to find the video. Regarding what you were asking about Alaba, it was a match where you could tell he's still in his adaptation phase to the team's rhythm. He didn't make any glaring mistakes, but he wasn't brilliant either: his distribution wasn't as smooth as it was at Bayern, and when bringing it out from the back he was sometimes impatient. That said, in tight defensive situations like the ones Deportivo created, he held up well in physical duels, although he lacks the intensity we saw from him last season in certain plays. Compared to young players like Valverde or Camavinga, Alaba has lost a bit of that aura of total solidity he used to carry. As for Ibrahim Díaz, it's already becoming his trademark: constant movement down the left wing, runs into the box, and tricky finishes. He scored Real Madrid's second goal after a textbook individual play and showed why Carlo Ancelotti considers him a key piece for the future. If Deportivo maintains this offensive dynamic (even though their defense was leaky), Real Madrid will have room to try out different lineups without much risk. It could be an ideal match for players like Díaz or Brugué to prove their worth before the season kicks off.

The match came on Sport 5 for me, I didn't even know it was broadcast on that channel. Alaba was a bit shaky in the first half too but he bounced back in the second half, in my opinion if the opposing team pushes further into our half we'll clear the offside trap easily.

It aired on Sport 5, yeah, that's where I watched it too. The first 20 minutes of the match were kind of sudden—his shot off the post in the second minute was unbelievable, it almost went in. After that, it was just a string of confusing minutes, really inconsistent on both attack and defense. We rarely see Ibrahim Díaz get rattled, in my opinion his name should pop up more often in summer transfer lists, he's got potential. I can't say he's my favorite but it was exciting, so which goal do you guys remember?

It aired on Sport 5, and honestly I couldn't watch it on any other channel but that's where I found the match. It was really just a light pre-season friendly, but the spells where Ibrahim Díaz was on the pitch were genuinely fun to watch — seeing him as an actual player makes a real difference. Alaba's performance wasn't as solid as I expected, maybe it was a bit of inexperience or whatever, but he was really tested at the back. Porro's runs down the right flank gave Madrid's attack a lot of pace, especially in the first half when Deportivo's defense struggled quite a bit. Deportivo just didn't seem ready for it mentally either, I think — they held onto the ball too long, and once they stopped pressing, they couldn't stop Madrid from moving forward. In the end it finished 3-1, which isn't bad at all. Watching Ibrahim Díaz was a treat on its own. As a La Masia graduate he hasn't quite settled in yet, but he put in a performance that gives you hope for the future. It'd be exciting to see him get minutes in the Champions League next season too.
