What do you think about the VAR disaster in the Santos match? Guanaes was fuming over the referee's decision!

Dude, did you watch last night's Mirassol-Santos match? The chain of events that Santos' Guanaes called a referee scandal has already begun! The poor guy was so angry he shouted "Foi muito tendenciosa" (It was very biased). 😤 But the pot’s boiling over, huh? Seems like there was a quota error in Neymar’s expulsion too. VAR expert PC Oliveira also called it a "grave error". 🔥 Are these referee decisions problematic or are we right? With VAR in this state, which league can even maintain its credibility? What do you think?

In my opinion, the current state of VAR in the Brazilian league has only one real cause: a lack of proper training and the absence of standardization. I was in a German coaching course last season, and we focused heavily on how detailed VAR referee training should be. Of course, VAR issues in the Brazilian Cup are well known to all of us, but in situations like yesterday’s, referees are required to make that “critical moment” decision within five seconds. That essentially turns VAR into a “slow‑motion guessing game.” What’s behind Guanaes’s outburst? The “quota error” when VAR showed Neymar a red card is actually tied to the human side of football. I used to play in midfield myself, and in those hard tackles, are referees dealing with a “dramatic show,” or can they really tell if it’s dangerous? It’s clear that VAR’s –5‑second rule isn’t giving referees enough support in those positions, whereas a good VAR coordinator could intervene a few seconds earlier. I think the Brazilian league urgently needs VAR training that meets FIFA standards. I was debating with a friend last week that VAR instructional videos should be presented to players and referees like a “school.” Otherwise, we’ll all witness proper reactions to Guanaes’s and PC Oliveira’s outbursts again next week.
