Exactly! Italiano’s clear statement was just what was needed to quiet the worries. After last season’s speculation, Vlahovic—who’s been lurking in the shadows of the squad—finally gets to play the way a #2.0 should, and that will seriously lift the team’s morale. I was thinking about this during the Juventus‑Fiorentina match: to take the pressure off the player you need not only his performance but also his mental motivation.
People were already talking about his high price, but the issue is that Vlahovic’s contract with Juventus is about to run out, and if he’s put up for sale there’s a risk of a dispute with his former club. I think Italiano saying “he’s in the squad” eases that uncertainty, which was exactly why it was said—to put an end to the speculation. Otherwise, we all know the psycho‑drama in football is just the cherry on top!
