Bro, there was Abdullah Avcı's mom's funeral yesterday. According to the news, almost the entire football world was there, and it was a massive turnout. I also watched some footage—such a crowded and respectful atmosphere... 😔
Do you think players should attend events like this, or is it better to keep it limited to close family and teammates? Or do you have a different take? Looking forward to your thoughts!

Last year, when we heard that our coach had lost his father before the match against Malatyaspor, the two of us went onto the field straight from prison as a team. While warming up on the pitch, I was waiting in an extra team jersey; later I realized they had reduced the number to make room for family members. A press conference was held before the match and everyone observed a moment of silence. The most moving part for me was when, at the start of the second half during a corner kick, the opposing captain paused for a second to pay his respects.
At the time there was a lot of debate about whether players should attend the funeral. My take is that the delicate balance should be shaped according to the family’s wishes. There are commercial breaks and such during games, but getting that many people together for a ceremony is already hard. Still, if you see football as a community that binds people together, I think at least a moment of silence or a special tribute could be a way forward.
