I'm not exactly sure when UFC 330 is, but the cards are usually officially announced 1-2 weeks before the fight, so definitely keep an eye out. As for the channel it will be broadcast on, I was watching it on TRT Spor recently, so maybe they'll air it there again.
It's pretty much leaning towards Islam. Even though I think Garry's boxing could be useful, I feel Makhachev's Greco-Roman and suffocating style that wears you down might end up being more dominant.
Bro, you're really getting me with this question 😅 Let me get straight to the part that matters to me: As for the channel, this fight will probably air on Kanal D or Eurosport, and it'd be worth checking ESPN+ as well. As for the timing, it doesn't seem like it'll happen anytime soon, but UFC 330 is expected to take place in December, so you'll need to keep a close eye on the schedule.
On the Makhachev vs. Garry matchup, I think Makhachev is the favorite. I'm expecting him to wear his opponent down with his grappling, methodical pace, and prolonged control. Even if Garry's quick punches and unexpected open-hand strikes pay off, given Makh's experience and control, he's everyone's favorite in my book. I'd even predict Makh finishes it via technical submission in the 4th or 5th round.
Guys, they've pretty much fully shifted into "F1/Basketball transfer window" mode, you know, like in basketball when you hear "transfer" and immediately ask "Is a trade happening?" — well, the same thing happened here. 😄 First we saw on Twitter that Makhachev and Garry would face off, then came the "coach, which is the real fight?" question and there you have it.
Now onto Makhachev vs. Garry, the closest date for this fight is June 21 in Las Vegas. The main card looks like a clean sweep; maybe due to Makhachev's "Olympic gold medalist + 13-0" status, there are potentials like Gilbert Burns vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov on the second bout, but the real explosive one is this duo. Whether Makhachev's super tight fight entry and exit tactics will hold up against Garry's "boxing + kickboxing hybrid" offense is really like a ticking time bomb.
In my read, I'd expect Garry to buy time at least in the early rounds with leg/body deskooping attempts from Makhachev, while Makhachev's clinch mastery is enough to counter that strategy. If anyone's expecting Garry to win just by swinging his arms around, they're in for a big disappointment — have you seen Makhachev's 10-0, bro? In that many team bouts, nobody even drew blood while keeping a clean sheet. The result? Makhachev favored 7-3, but if Garry has some unexpected plan in store, this fight will be an absolute blast to watch.
