Guys, I posted the news yesterday and another bombshell exploded in sports! 💥 Our Turkey U17 Women's National Volleyball Team won the silver medal at the world championship! I won't lie, I was pretty proud, to be honest. We were just talking about Ada Germen, Derya Cebecioğlu, and others the other day, so it seems like the young ones are coming up! 😤 Do you think this success is a coincidence, or is it the fruit of long-term investment in our youth system? What do you foresee for these rising players in the future? I'm fully supporting our team, do you think this was a well-deserved win? 🔥 Drop your thoughts below, let's discuss!

I'm comparing this to the youth development system of the old German ski teams. Over there they also started focusing on teams at a young age, and the goal wasn't just short‑term success but improving the infrastructure. For example, last year a 16‑year‑old skier became world champion—definitely the fruit of that system. Here, you've been investing in volleyball development for a long time, both physically and mentally, and this is the result. In 4–5 years you'll see new names added to the likes of Ada and Derya. The real issue is continuously supporting these youngsters and giving them confidence. Otherwise, it's not just about winning medals; creating lasting change is what matters, in my opinion.

What about the consistency these youngsters need to show on the world stage? Have you ever thought about how players coming out of Derya Cebecioğlu’s Ada Germen pipeline should be supported during sponsorship, academic life, and the transition to professional basketball? Because right now a statistical explosion is great, but the real challenges for them will start afterward. Honestly, the constant pressure on young athletes—both physically and mentally—also raises injury risks. As coaches like us, our biggest job is to make sure their development continues without harm. Otherwise, if we lose the talent we have, our loss isn’t just medals; it’s the future stars.

Honestly, this success is definitely not a coincidence—especially if you’re talking about the development of our young players, it’s directly relevant. Look, I’ve been involved in scouting for ten years, and I’m not just spouting “we grew up today, we weren’t there yesterday” nonsense. These girls are almost as ready physically and mentally as professionals, and that’s because they’ve been filtered through the system for years. I don’t know exactly what our coach does, but having them play so many matches under pressure at such a young age has brought their character and game intelligence to this level. They’re far more organized and disciplined than teams from most developing countries. I’m optimistic about the future, but I need to give a few details. Players like Derya Cebecioğlu playing at this level at 17 is basically a preview of what they could do for the senior team in one or two years. But watch out—some of these girls haven’t even finished their growth spurt yet, so they’re at risk for shoulder and knee issues. Take Ada Germen, for example; she has a bright future, but we need to strike a good balance between playing and resting, otherwise the injury risk is high. It may seem cruel to develop youngsters so early, but the adaptation needed to advance quickly in volleyball has to happen at a young age. In short: this achievement is exciting, but to guarantee the future we’ll have to work even harder on injury management and mental resilience.

Man, seriously, this success is never a coincidence! Getting a silver medal in the under‑17 category is the fruit of the infrastructure moves that have been made for a long time. In recent years we’ve constantly seen the TVF (Turkish Volleyball Federation) and local clubs investing specifically in women’s volleyball. For example, even the third‑place finish we got at last year’s U16 women’s World Championship was proof of how seriously the youth system is being taken. Our youngsters breaking into the top three in their age groups has a lot to do with the attention to detail from our coaches (especially the European ones). I’m optimistic about the future, too. Names like Derya Cebecioğlu and Ada Germen are already the heralds of the “golden generation” we’ve seen in basketball. While they took silver at U17, it’s only a matter of time before they stay in form for the U20 and senior teams. Look, even though we lost to South Korea, we pushed Brazil in the final without giving them a set. Those stats show the level our kids are at both offensively and defensively. So yeah, these youngsters will soon play big roles both in the domestic league and in Europe. When you look at the average age of the countries that made it to the championship, ours was one of the youngest squads—still, that youth brought home silver, and what could you achieve with a bit more experience? ✊🔥

I run a small volleyball team, and the girls in the neighborhood—man, they jump and attack with such stubborn energy in practice that it sometimes blows my mind. When they took first place in tournaments last season, they were practically flying; clearly, there are people putting in work at the grassroots level. These youngsters really have a lot of potential—don’t you dare give up!

Off bro, I never could have imagined that after the Ada Germen incident something like this would happen! Seriously, when you look at the young talents in our Super League, they’ve got a story just like these guys. Take the players that came through Alanyaspor’s academy—if they hadn’t ended up in Morocco’s hands, we might have been stuck in the second division forever. Just like those who grew up with that experience, our volleyball girls have been working together and polishing the system they inherited from the youth setup. I think this is pure fruit of the system. In the past, transfers always went to top‑level leagues, but the academy‑grown guys were always a step behind. Now we’re seeing youngsters like Kaan Kaldırım and Meryem Boz coming through. This success is all thanks to their hard work, honestly! I’m super optimistic about the future—just wait, you’ll see them start shining in the Super League or even in Europe soon.

The first thing that comes to mind is the rise of women's rugby, bro. Remember last year when our U‑18 women's team in France lost the European Championship final and took silver? It's exactly like that. We've invested so heavily in the grassroots that our girls are now being trained on the courts with far tougher, more organized, and certified coaching in both volleyball and rugby. Honestly, women's teams used to be “just playing,” but now they’re outpacing the men’s squads in both tactical understanding and physical preparation. That silver medal isn’t a coincidence—it’s the result of years of work in our development and academy system. We’re not going to just produce stars like Ada and Derya and then let them go; our youngsters will be playing at an even higher level in the future!
