Curious about the basics? There are common filament types like PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, PET, and Nylon. Each has different printing properties, durability, and applications. For example, PLA is eco-friendly and great for easy printing but has a rigid structure. ABS is more durable but requires ventilation during printing. Which one would you prefer and why? Also, which filament would make the most sense for beginners to start with?
What filaments are available for 3D printing, and which one should I choose?

Newbies usually recommend PLA to me, honestly, it's a huge relief with its ease of printing and eco-friendliness. I used to use PLA all the time at first too, it's less likely to break and you can print without any smell. Even though I might switch to ABS, the need for ventilation always scares me off, when I tried it at home, the extractor fan kicks in :)
PETG is also one of my favorites, it can stretch and has high durability. It's especially handy if you're printing feet or parts with wheels. Don't shy away from TPU either, it's super flexible but printing it is a bit of a circus act, it can be a bit challenging for beginners. I even tried it briefly once, the filament kept slipping :)
