First and foremost, the distance between the nozzle and the bed is incredibly important—if it's too high, the filament cools in midair and comes out shapeless because it can't find a supportive surface. I experienced this a lot in my first attempts, but I remember the problem was solved when a thick A4 sheet provided just the right amount of sliding resistance during calibration. Also, using a glass or aluminum build plate to maintain consistent heating across the print radius helps reduce warping issues. In my early prints, the bed temperature fluctuated too much, causing layers to separate unevenly until I switched to a stable temperature.
Pressure and speed settings are also key—while many insist on a "speed sensor," I got the cleanest results by sticking to 40mm/s with a 0.2mm layer height.
