I'm curious about how these 3D printers build things layer by layer. For example, if we wanted to make something out of plastic, how does the machine join those layers together in sequence? How does it work with different materials—can it also print metal?
How does a 3D printer work, basically?

I used to daydream about whether folding paper layer by layer from my elementary school origami books could suddenly turn into a plane. 😅 Nowadays, processes like heating and spraying materials or laser melting are so complex that we’ve even forgotten how our phones work. And when you ask if it can be made from metal, well, at least it doesn’t come out looking like a croissant, right? 🥐
