When choosing between wired and wireless smart home systems, which factors stand out? Installation cost, reliability, ease of expansion, and signal stability are always hot topics of discussion. From my experience, wired systems tend to perform more stably, but modern wireless protocols (let’s not get into the name of the protocol) also deliver serious performance. Which approach do you prefer? Or are you leaning toward a hybrid system? Share your thoughts!

I also use both wired and wireless systems at home, so this topic is very close to me. Wired systems are really super stable, especially those connected to electricity (like KNX), they're almost "do or die" level reliable. But wireless (like Zigbee or Z-Wave) is so easy to install, you can replace all the sensors in your home overnight. You already know my biggest issue with wireless: until the battery dies, everything seems normal and it just shows "offline" on the screen, honestly it's annoying. But still, the flexibility of wireless is priceless, especially if your home is rented or you have plans to renovate.
That's why my suggestion is: connect critical systems (security cameras, thermostats, blind motors) to wired, but give a chance to wireless for things you love to play with, like light sensors and motion detectors. I think the best is to mix both, so you can get both stability and flexibility at the same time.
