I'm looking for a smart bulb but I'm not sure what to look out for. There are ones that change colors—how do you tell the quality of those? It's also important that they work with voice assistants. For example, do they work over Wi-Fi or another connection system? What are the budget-friendly options and how much do they usually cost? What should I look for in terms of price-performance? Should I prefer ones that work on their own network without connecting to others? How is the app and is it easy to use? What do you recommend, guys?

Let's start with the color-changing quality, bro. I got scammed buying a 300-500 TL lamp from some cheap market, the color transitions were all over the place, and the light flow wasn't smooth at all. For a good lamp, you need at least 16 million color depth, 90+ CRI (color accuracy), and even light distribution. Brands like Philips Hue or the LIFX series take this seriously and offer certified light quality. Cheap alternatives just slap an "RGB" label on it and call it a day—their light can end up looking yellowish or greenish. For voice assistant compatibility, go with Wi-Fi, but watch out: every Wi-Fi lamp has to share the same network as Google Home or Alexa. If you want a "whole-home system," I’d recommend a mesh Wi-Fi setup, or the lamp might keep dropping out. Also, some cheap brands only support 2.4GHz and don’t work on 5GHz. When it comes to apps: Philips Hue’s interface is simple with sync options, but LIFX has more fun lighting effects. If you’re looking for something that works without an app, there are models with direct buttons, but they’re pretty limited in function. Budget-wise: you can find good color-changing lamps with voice assistant support for around 800-1500 TL. When setting up your phone, avoid brands that ask for unnecessary permissions or show ads. Steer clear of ones that rely on their own network—you’ll just end up resetting them constantly. Bottom line: if you're building a serious lighting setup, get the Hue White & Color or LIFX Z series—you won’t run into problems down the line.
