My advice is to first pick the room you're setting it up in and choose the right light color and brightness—like, for the bedroom, a warm yellow tone is more relaxing, based on my experience. Go for ones with voice control; mine works perfectly with Alexa. The preset automation modes are super handy, like having the lights gradually brighten in the morning. The only thing I think is unnecessary is some lamps having confusing modes to work without internet—I’d just go for Wi-Fi or Hub-dependent ones.
