Colleagues, I've been racking my brain for years now: should I sacrifice work time for features, or just ignore everything except battery life? Personally, I'm tired of charging my device every night, but without GPS, notifications, and sensors, it sometimes drives me crazy. What do you think is more important today—advanced features or "infinite" battery life? Vote for one option and give your reasoning.
What matters more in smartwatches: battery life or features?

Personally, I’d prioritize battery life over extra features. I tried a smartwatch with all the bells and whistles, but charging it every night got old fast. Unless the functions are absolutely essential, I’d rather have a device that lasts a week and just tells me the time and notifications.
I always struggle with this too: if a smartwatch has decent battery life, it's usually missing some key features—or do I leave it charging for half a day or just use GPS for a couple of hours and call it a day?
Exactly my case too! I also hesitated for a long time between an ultra-durable watch like the Garmin Fenix (which lasts 2 weeks but has a basic design and limited features) and a smartwatch like the Galaxy Watch 6 (which you have to charge every night if you use GPS and apps).
Personally, I ended up going for a compromise: a Suunto 9 Peak Pro for sports (insane battery life + advanced tracking) and a TicWatch Pro 5 for daily use (decent battery life + full features). The GPS and notifications save me a ton of time, but I get why people want to avoid the hassle of charging. The real debate is whether advanced features are really worth it in daily life or if you can do without them!
So did I think we just need to consider the time and battery, do we even need GPS and stuff like that?
Thanks for bringing this up! I mean, nobody enjoys charging their device every night, but then again, having no features kind of defeats the purpose of a smartwatch, right? Which side do you lean towards—sticking with "I'll charge it weekly" or "must have everything at all costs"?
