Recently, I've noticed a lot of people around me wearing smartwatches, but I always hear complaints like "the battery only lasts two days on a single charge" and "I have to think about charging it tomorrow as soon as I put it on." So, is the reality daily charging or once a week? Do devices with short battery life have more features, while those with long battery life have fewer, making it really a case of having to choose between the two? What aspects of smartwatch battery life do you think need improvement, in your opinion?
Are smartwatch batteries really good enough?

I also started using a smartwatch last year, and at first, a single charge really didn’t last a week, especially when I used the GPS feature a lot. But my new watch, which I bought recently, lasts four or five days in battery-saving mode. The only issue is that the exercise tracking isn’t always accurate.
A while back, I was pressured by my coworkers at home who always judged me based on my watch to get one too. At that time, my budget was just over 2000 yuan, so I went for the best value-for-money option—a certain J-brand 47mm domestic model. Right after I bought it, there was a launch event, and after a system update, it suddenly had everything turned on—GPS, NFC, SpO2, Bluetooth calls, Wi-Fi direct, you name it. It was like, "All features unlocked, I'm the coolest!"
But by the third afternoon, the 40% battery warning popped up. I mostly used it for commuting (swiping metro), checking notifications, and replying to WeChat. Half an hour out for dinner, and it was dead! Later, I found out that the "24-hour battery life" fine print no one reads—what they meant was "under standard mode." Once you turn on GPS and heart rate, it drops back to "typical smartwatch battery life." Now, I carry a power bank everywhere, even plug it in before bed, terrified it’ll turn into a "charging watch" by morning.
Looking back, I really shouldn’t have scrimped a few hundred to get the "high-end" version. If I’d gone for the 4-5 day battery model, I’d probably only need to charge once a week and save myself the hassle. But honestly, smartwatch battery life is such a pain point—manufacturers should really sell "super battery mode" and "super feature mode" as separate options so users can choose instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach!
