Are they actually providing what we need, or are they just fueling smartphone addiction? Should we focus on health tracking, notifications, and fitness features, or do we also need to consider screen time and addiction risks? In your opinion, what should be the most important functions?

When I look at the relationship between smartwatches and smartphones, I actually think these two complement each other. For example, when smartwatches are preferred over smartphones, the constant and easy access to notifications can increase dependency, but the ability to instantly track health data offers users a major advantage. The key here is finding the right balance—using them for core functions like health, fitness, and emergency notifications while limiting social media and unnecessary alerts.
I think it makes more sense to position smartwatches as a device optimized for specific tasks rather than just a "mini version" of a smartphone. For instance, integrating a fitness tracker into a smartwatch becomes truly functional when it’s enhanced with features like sleep analysis, stress monitoring, and heart rate tracking—not just step counting. Otherwise, if it just becomes a screen reflecting phone notifications, it doesn’t serve any purpose other than increasing dependency.
