Voice-controlled home assistants are gaining popularity, but data privacy is always a hot topic. Do these devices constantly listen in, and who can access the recorded data? Are security flaws a serious risk? Do you think we have to sacrifice privacy for convenience with these devices, or should usability come first? I’m curious to hear different perspectives.

Actually, I also tried Samsung's SmartThings a year ago, and I really liked being able to turn the lights on and off with the "Hey Google" command. But as you said, it's creepy knowing it's constantly listening to your microphone. I immediately checked the privacy settings on the device, enabled the "Automatically delete voice recordings" option, and manually deleted the monthly recordings. In short, if you're going to use it, stick to devices from trusted brands, choose models that store data locally, and disable live listening. It can be incredibly convenient, but you don’t have to sacrifice privacy—just tweak a few settings to minimize the risk.
