Lately, there's been a lot of talk about smartwatches, especially for fitness tracking and notifications. But are they a luxury or actually useful? I recently got into PC gaming and I'm looking for something that won't interrupt my games with notifications. Do you think smartwatches make our lives easier or are they just an unnecessary expense? I'd love to hear different opinions.

A few months ago when I switched to PC gaming like you, one of the biggest annoyances was notifications. Especially the sound alerts from apps like Discord and Steam would disrupt my focus the moment they popped up—I’d try to figure out what was happening without even looking at the screen, which broke my concentration, and I’d have to tell my teammates, “I’ll check in a minute.” That all changed when I got a Fossil Gen 6—I could feel the notifications vibrate on my wrist first, then see what they were right on the watch face. I even use it in meetings sometimes, especially since everyone’s phones are on silent, so it’s easy to feel the vibration and glance down. Of course, budgets vary, and I did a lot of research to find the cheapest one that worked for me. If you’re into fitness anyway, tracking your heart rate, sleep patterns, etc. is a nice bonus. But as I said, for me the real lifesaver was being able to keep up with game notifications without constantly checking my phone—especially when my hands are busy on the keyboard.
