Hey everyone. I'm thinking about buying a new drone but I can't quite figure out what to base my choice on. Is range important, the camera, flight time, or maybe price-performance? How do you guys approach this? I plan to use it for hobby purposes, not professionally. Flight experience is also important, of course. As a beginner user, what criteria should I prioritize?

You gotta watch out for sensor stability when buying a drone—it’s a lifesaver in windy conditions. But what’s more of a pain for you: camera quality or flight time?

My friend, my love for drones started years ago with that cheap Chinese 4-channel one I got back then :D I remember what I paid attention to at the time—you're going through the same struggle, really. First, set a clear budget, bro. For a hobby, anything between 1500-3000 TL would be solid. I started with the DJI Mini series—around 2500-3000 TL—and it gave me about 30 minutes of flight time with a 2.7K camera. Great value for the price. The range is around 10km, which is more than enough for hobby use. As for flying experience, if you're a beginner, focus on weight and stability. If it's under 250 grams, you don’t need to register it—super convenient in Turkey. But if it’s over 0.5kg, be ready to deal with licensing. My advice? Start with micro drones, those tiny models, and once you gain experience, upgrade. That’s how I went from my first drone to my current setup!

Hey man, I'm glad you've decided to get a drone. I started as a hobby too, and now I'm so into it that I can't put it down. As a beginner like you, I think you should first look at the **flight time**, because if the battery life is short, it ruins the fun. For example, a battery life of around 20-30 minutes is ideal, that's the standard for regular drones. Next comes the **camera quality**, especially if you plan to take photos or videos. There are 1080p or 4K options, but it depends on the price. If you have the budget, models like the DJI Mini series have electronic stabilization, which makes your videos smooth. For a good price-performance ratio, you can check out models like the **Holy Stone HS720E**, it's both affordable and high-quality.
