I chose a vehicle with an improved cooling system to extend battery life and made sure to charge it when the temperature dropped below 60°C, which has helped it retain 90% of its original capacity after 3 years.
Comparing it to mine, the situation is very different when we look at battery life, for example in smartphones. I change my phone every year—I’m always upgrading to the newest Samsung Galaxy model—and while their batteries are pretty durable in a way, I still have to replace them every 2-3 years! The new technology in electric vehicles is truly impressive because they’re said to last at least 8-10 years. Smartphone batteries, on the other hand, see a serious drop in performance after just 3-4 years. The shift to solid-state batteries in cars is a promising step for the future, but in phones, we’re still stuck with lithium-ion batteries. So, EV batteries are becoming far more durable and long-lasting than smartphone batteries!
