Standard household outlets (230V AC, ~8A) allow for slow charging (AC charging, 7-11kW). I use an 11kW Wallbox with my Tesla at home via a Type 2 socket, which takes the battery from 20% to 80% overnight. However, slow charging is the gentlest on the battery — I prefer this method every day.
For fast charging (DC, 50+ kW), you need 150kW stations in cities. On German highways, Fastned hubs offer 350kW — you can go from 30% to 80% in just 10-15 minutes. I use these stations during road trips when I take breaks, saving a lot of time. Important note: very fast charging generates heat in the battery, so vehicles automatically limit power to balance this out.
