I always look for that exact criterion—no fluff, just facts. AMOLED is a must for me, especially since colors and contrast don’t strain my eyes. Remember those old LCD watches? Either the blacks looked gray, or the brightness setting drained the battery. One of my students had an Arduino project with an AMOLED screen—it didn’t hurt their eyes, and the battery lasted over three days. Of course, it depends on ambient light; if you’re under direct sunlight, brightness still increases, but it’s way better than LCD.
