Lately, smartwatches have become quite popular. They offer features like fitness tracking, notifications, and payments. But does everyone need one? Even if you buy a cheap model, you still have to charge it constantly. Plus, the small screen makes it impractical to read messages or browse games. When I switched from the Galaxy Watch to the Apple Watch last year, I had a lot of questions in my mind. Before that, I thought wearing something on my wrist just for fitness tracking was unnecessary—just another gadget to deal with. But now, being able to quickly glance at notifications without constantly checking my phone makes a big difference. For example, feeling a vibration on my wrist when a message arrives reduces distractions, especially when I'm on the move and don’t want to dig my phone out of my pocket.
Then there are the apps—like being able to call an Uber directly from my watch while waiting, without pulling out my phone. Sure, I got tired of charging it constantly, so now I just plug it in once a night. As for the small screen, I focus on customization—keeping the interface simple and not overloaded with details makes it easier on the eyes and more practical. Not everyone might need this, but for me, it’s become an indispensable tool.
