I always see battery life claims in ads saying it lasts 5-7 days, but no one mentions "real-world usage." After all, with constant heart rate monitoring, GPS, notifications, and more, how long do they actually last? As a regular user, what kind of battery life should we realistically expect?

Honestly, with continuous heart‑rate monitoring, GPS, and notifications turned on, even 2–3 days feels tough. I was really surprised the first time I got a 10 % warning after just 36 hours.

Man, I’m living exactly like you said, bro. The ads claim “7‑day battery,” but since my app constantly has GPS and heart‑rate sensor on, mine usually drops to 20 % in about two days. Especially in sports mode or when I’m constantly using the map, it drains in almost ten hours. In my opinion, getting 3–4 days out of it under normal use is reasonable; the manufacturers even say “under ideal conditions.” I’ve stopped all the unnecessary notifications, only turn on GPS when I’m running, and now I charge it roughly every four days.

Man, I’ve been there too, buddy. Actually, the longest battery life I’ve seen was with the Apple Watch Series 8—it lasted about 3–4 days on normal use. But check this: with GPS on all the time and heart‑rate monitoring, even 24 hours can be a stretch. My advice is to lower your expectations; I usually turn off GPS and the intensive tracking mode. I also switched to thin smart rings like the Oura Ring—they can last 5–6 days, but they’re limited in features. If you’re a heavy user, you should expect around 2–3 days. The best thing is to look at the device settings to see which sensors are draining power so you can shut off the unnecessary ones.

Bro, I was just like you—believed all the marketing hype and bought a Fossil Gen 6. The ad said the battery would last from two to three days, right? On the first couple of days I used GPS outdoors, counted steps, kept the heart‑rate monitor on constantly… By the second day the watch was down to about 15 % battery, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed. Then I started tweaking the power settings—turning off the heart‑rate sensor all the time, limiting the screen staying on… In the next three or four days it held up to around 20 %, and normally I’d say it averages about 2.5–3 days. My advice: when you get the watch, don’t just leave it on the default settings—look into battery optimizations. If GPS stays on all the time the battery dies in a day, so I only turn it on when I’m working out. Also, disabling unnecessary notifications extends the runtime. In my experience, expecting 2–3 days of average use is reasonable; I think the ads are a bit overly optimistic.
