Hey guys, what should be the criteria for a robot vacuum cleaner to use at home? For example, does the so-called "storm mode" really work or is it just marketing? How does the vacuum clean the corners it can't reach, how sensitive are its sensors? How long does the battery last, is the condition of the battery important when charging? The noise level is also important, of course. What do you guys prioritize, any recommendations?

I was just as indecisive as you when I was buying a robot vacuum, honestly. When we tried the first model we got, we were actually disappointed. They marketed it as having suction power, even had a "storm mode," but it wasn’t even enough for cat litter. Anyway, later I found out that for decent suction, you need at least 150-200 AW (Air Watts). Our current model has that, and it *actually* picks up dirt—especially great on hard floors. The vacuum also kept getting stuck in corners, and the sensors weren’t sensitive enough. With the new one, we went for a LIDAR sensor model, and honestly, the more advanced the sensors, the fewer things it misses. I also noticed it drains the battery while emptying, but with the smart pause feature, it refills even when you’re not home. Noise level matters too—try to get something under 60 dB, or you’ll be scared out of your wits if it runs early in the morning. Mine is one of the quietest; I barely hear it.
