Guys, I'm thinking about buying a robot vacuum, but how should I approach the price/performance balance? For example, when it comes to picking up cables from the floor, carpets, guiding the vacuum, etc., which features should I prioritize? Some models are really loud, while others have terrible battery life, they say. What do you usually focus on? Any advice based on technology/design features rather than brands?
What should I look for when buying a robot vacuum cleaner?

Last year I bought one for my brother, honestly I really regretted it. At first we thought "cheap is fine" so we got a Chinese one. First day it came out: didn't follow cables, didn't recognize carpets, instead of moving room to room it just danced in a corner. Once it even swallowed a cable, and when we tried to take it out, two gears inside the vacuum broke. 😅
Then on a friend's recommendation I switched to the Xiaomi Mi Robot, and look, it fixed everything. Thanks to its laser guidance system it maps out the house, distinguishes between carpets and hard floors and switches sweeping modes. Battery life is great too, after a 2-hour clean it can idle for 1.5 hours. Most importantly you have to watch out for noise levels, some models are so loud that you can't sleep in the afternoon. In short, don't focus on the price at first, but what technology it uses—laser navigation and height sensors are a must in my opinion. Mine now barely makes a sound while sweeping the room.
