Is my budget tight but my house always ends up dusty. Does a robot vacuum actually help? I mean, does it just sweep the floor or does it really clean with its brush? Does it hike up the electric bill a lot? Does it need maintenance, and if so, what kind of maintenance? Is it a smart investment?

Last year, my house wasn’t gathering dust; I was constantly chasing after my wife and the kids, so tripping over the vacuum cord and hearing them yell "Mom!" was totally normal. Eventually, I couldn’t take it anymore, so I bought a robot vacuum (a solid budget-friendly model), and man, it was a lifesaver. Before, I had to drag that five-meter cord all over the place just to plug in the vacuum. Now, I just set it up before bed, go to sleep, and wake up to a clean house while I’m doing the dishes the next morning—it quietly covers every inch. Honestly, the brushes really do the job—they pick up dust and crumbs, even lightly brushing the carpets. It can turn, squeeze under furniture, and it’s not clumsy at all. As for the electricity bill? In my place, it only adds about 5-6 lira extra per month—no big deal. Sure, it’ll use more energy if you run it nonstop, but if you’re just using it a few times a week, it’s fine. Maintenance-wise, you just need to clean the filters every month and check the brushes every couple of months to remove hair and gunk. Since I’m a bit lazy, I empty the dustbin every three months—it just stops working when it’s full anyway. Over time, you’ll notice the battery weakening too, so you might need to replace it every few years. If you ask me, if you get a model that fits your budget, you’re not just keeping the house dust-free—you’re also saving a ton of time. I’m happy with mine and honestly, I’m glad I bought it.

If your robot vacuum has a dust problem at home, it's a serious lifesaver, bro. I had the same issue. Just like you think, it doesn't just vacuum, thanks to its brushes it also collects dust from under furniture and corners, and high-quality models can even leave a damp cloth. Mine (Samsung S8+) runs for about 45 minutes a day and keeps the house clean for me, and it doesn't consume that much electricity either. Mine only added around 5-6 TL to my electricity bill per month. As for maintenance, the simplest thing is to clean the brushes and filters once a week, otherwise, its performance drops when it's full of dust. You should also replace the filters every 3-6 months (they cost around 20-50 TL), and don't forget to wipe and dry the sensors. In the end, it's not something I'd recommend to someone on a tight budget, but if your house is constantly dusty, it's like an investment; you don't even need to take out a loan, it pays for itself in 2-3 months. My advice is to buy a used one (they're always cheaper), try it out and see if you like it, then buy a new one if you want.

If I compare it to a regular vacuum, you're constantly cleaning the house yourself, whereas the robot vacuum is always running around and continuously using its brush. The electricity cost is also similar to a regular vacuum, bro, there's not much difference. The only thing is you have to charge its battery every week or replace it eventually.

I think those robot vacuum things really make life easier, bro. I was like, "Let's see how much this expensive gadget can actually clean," so I bought one. At first, I thought it just swept the floors, but honestly, it picks up all the dust and crumbs with its brush—even the dust in the carpets. My dog sheds a lot, and it gets all that too. Don’t stress about the electricity either—mine runs 1-2 hours a day, and my bill only goes up by 2-3 TL a month. You just need to clean the brush and empty the filter every 3-4 months, that’s it. My advice? Start with budget-friendly models, like the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum series. I did some research, and honestly, it saves you from dealing with dust every now and then. Just keep up with maintenance—if the brush or filter gets clogged, it won’t work as well. Now my robot vacuum is so good that I don’t even bother grabbing a regular vacuum anymore, just for the sake of it.
