I've heard that robot vacuums clean the house while you're away. But how effective are they really? Do they reach all the corners? Is it true that they give voice alerts? Can I operate them outside of the pre-set schedule? I've also heard some things about battery life; I'd like to get some insights on that too.

Comparing the classic vacuum cleaner to the robot vacuum in terms of usage, we can draw clear conclusions about the efficiency of robot vacuums. First, we see that the classic vacuum still excels at cleaning corners, as robot vacuums are often physically limited in reaching tight spaces. However, for everyday dust and hair cleanup, robot vacuums can be sufficient. Their audible alerts, available in most models, are usually adjustable but work through notifications rather than voice commands. When it comes to battery life, robot vacuums typically run for 60-90 minutes on average, whereas classic vacuums can clean indefinitely (or until the battery runs out). In terms of programming, robot vacuums offer preset schedules as well as manual operation options—similar to the instant usability of classic vacuums—but the ability to activate them remotely makes them far more practical.

Robot vacuums are great for cleaning when you're not home, especially on flat floors. They sometimes struggle to reach corners, but models with mapping technology do a better job. Some even have alerts—like when the dustbin is full. You can also control most of them manually with a button or an app. Battery life varies by model, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
