I bought the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra myself last month, and I think it works just like you described. Its biggest advantage is that thanks to its LiDAR and camera sensors, it creates a "memory" of the room. Even when I rearranged some furniture yesterday, it quickly updated the layout after a short pause. Now, even if I move the fridge to the left, it still operates on the most efficient route.
