I've got a question: Does anyone know how these robot vacuums manage to get over thresholds or carpets and still clean the rooms properly? Like, how do their detection systems and sensors work? Can someone explain it in general? A bit in-depth, bro.
How do robot vacuums navigate?

Man, I've always been curious about how robot vacuums manage to get around, especially on floors covered with those thin carpets! I think they all create a 3D map of the room using these laser sensors called LIDAR, then navigate without hitting any obstacles. Then, the sensors send signals to the robot's wheels saying "stop, turn left" and stuff like that, right?
