When it comes to buying a robot vacuum, battery life is definitely one of the most important factors. From my experience, models that last between 60–90 minutes are enough for me, but if you have a 2–3 room apartment or plan to use it frequently, those with 120+ minutes are better. I also prefer lithium batteries because they charge quickly and you don’t have to worry about forgetting to plug them in. Being able to work without getting tangled in cords is a must in my book—you know how annoying it is when it keeps wrapping around cables 😅.
Then there’s the issue of performance on carpets versus hardwood floors. When I tested my robot vacuums, they behaved completely differently—sucking up dust well on carpets but sometimes missing tiny paper scraps on hardwood. I noticed a big difference with Xiaomi’s mid-range models because their vacuum heads are adjustable, so they don’t scratch the floors. I usually go for models with high dust pickup efficiency (80%+) and a mopping mode—this way, they handle both dry and light wet cleaning needs.
