Prices are still quite high, but what about that "I bought it once and that's it" mentality—how accurate is that? Does it save you from sweeping by hand once a week, or are you just balancing its performance? With high-performance models, does noise pollution disrupt your sleep, or do low-quality ones constantly get stuck? Is it worth the money, or is going back to traditional methods more sensible? What are your experiences leaning towards?
Does the robot vacuum actually work?

It works, sure, but only if you pick the right model. For example, last year my buddy got a 15,000‑RUB unit from ARM; it’s so quiet that I could run it at night, fall asleep and it just kept going. But a friend of mine bought a cheap Chinese knock‑off; its battery dies every two hours, it constantly gets stuck, whines and sputters. Now the seller is telling him he needs a new battery.
It does save you from hand‑vacuuming once a week, of course—if you have a robot vacuum you won’t have to bother as much. But you have to pay quite a bit if you want it to pick up tiny stuff like fish bones or cat hair. Mine doesn’t glitch all the time like cheap models; it shows up at the time you set, crawls under the bed, and does the cleaning.
Is it worth the money? I think it depends on how you use it. If you’re usually at home and you’re not in a rush to clean, you make the investment once and you’re set. But if you live in a rented apartment where guests come only once a month, hand‑vacuuming makes more sense. If it’s not high‑performance, the noise isn’t a big deal anyway.
I was mainly looking for a robot vacuum that wouldn't make a lot of noise. I can even pick out the neighbor’s sounds while the smart vacuum is running its night program. I still have to sweep by hand once or twice a week, but it still saves me—especially since trying to pick up crumbs from the carpet by hand is basically impossible.
