I'm considering buying a robot vacuum to help with the constant cleaning of the house. Which type do you think is more convenient? The ones that automatically sweep the floors or the ones that can be manually programmed? Why did you make this choice? Share your experiences.

I’d definitely advocate for programmable models—but for good reason. Most semi-automatic "just set it and forget it" devices fail in real-world conditions at the first corner or edge. As soon as you’ve got carpet edges, stray cables, or low furniture, they spin in circles or get stuck. Features like "clean until 3 PM" or zone modes (e.g., kitchen/hallway only) give me control without constant manual intervention. Modern models with LiDAR/VSLAM map the home so precisely they can even ventilate at night while I sleep—no more aimless wandering. That said, I strongly recommend watching for two things: first, the battery must match the room size (otherwise it’ll start recharging mid-living room). Second, the main brush should be easy to clean—nothing’s more frustrating than spending weeks picking tangled hair out of a bristle-covered roller. My tip: pick brands with solid after-sales support. Software updates for mapping algorithms make the difference between "useless after a few months" and "a lifelong companion." If you’re willing to spend 10 minutes a week on basic maintenance, programmable systems deliver far greater value.
