I own an electric vehicle and want to maximize my battery life. What should I pay attention to? Factors like charge level, temperature, and storage conditions come to mind—are there others? What’s your general approach? Everyone seems to have different advice, and I’m not sure which is correct.

Hmm, what bothers you the most when it comes to extending the lifespan of an electric car's battery? Is it the fear of charging in the cold, or does keeping it at 100% constantly drain your battery? Though some brands already limit their batteries to 80-90%, so you might need to do something about that.

Wow, I also use an electric vehicle and the battery topic is really important, bro. Since I used to work on battery optimization at Apple during iOS development, I have a bit of knowledge about this. EV batteries work just like the lithium-ion batteries in phones, so the same principles apply. They get negatively affected by long waits at low charge, overheating, or constantly charging to full. First and foremost, the most critical thing is the charge level. Try to keep it between 20% and 80%. Never reaching 100% extends the battery life and maintains performance, which is also recommended by vehicle manufacturers. Of course, it's hard to do this on long trips, so in those cases, it's better to go straight to supercharger stations. Temperature also does a lot of damage to the battery. Don't leave the vehicle parked in direct sunlight, especially in the summer. If you can find a closed garage or a shady spot, the battery will heat up less. In winter, avoid charging in extreme cold as the battery performance can drop. Also, when you're not using the vehicle, it's best to store the battery at around 50%. Leaving it completely empty or fully charged is equally bad.
