If you're curious, what should we pay attention to in these technologies that have moved into mass production? Which factors stand out in terms of driving range, charging time, and price-to-performance balance? Also, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the common mistakes new users make. I have this in mind too, but I'm confused about which criteria to base my decision on. How would you approach this?

First and foremost, ask yourself whether you really need an electric car now or if you can wait. Compared to the plug-in hybrids that are coming out, the BEV (pure electric) wins in efficiency and zero emissions, but it lacks points like the public charging network in mid-sized cities or the need for a garage with a plug. For example, if you live in an apartment without your own parking space and rely on neighborhood charging stations, real-world range in winter (when cold reduces it by 20-30%) can become a headache. Second, look at the kWh/100km ratio: a car that does 15 kWh/100km (like a Tesla Model 3) is not the same as one that does 25 kWh/100km (like some old city cars). The difference here shows up in your monthly bill just like with an energy-hungry fridge: an extra 5 kWh per 100 km adds up to around €30-40 more per month with current home tariffs. Most new EV owners tend to overestimate WLTP range, only to realize later that their 400 km summer trip (with the A/C running) drops to just 300 km in reality because the air conditioning eats up battery.
