I wonder, guys, will autonomous driving systems really be revolutionary? What technologies are shaping this field? For example, how do sensor fusion, AI models, or high-performance computing hardware play a role? What do you think are the key factors in task sharing?

I'm actually pretty fascinated by autonomous vehicles because last month I came across a video of a self-parking car while testing Apple Maps' new navigation features on my iPhone. At that moment, I thought, "Wow, it's likely we'll all be using something like this soon." Apple's work on autonomous systems also intrigued me because they're making sensors (like lidar and radar) increasingly smaller and more powerful. For instance, lidar sensors are now being used in smartphones, and prices are dropping in cars too. The part about artificial intelligence is genuinely exciting. As far as I know, Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system uses neural networks that learn continuously and improve from accident data. I also noticed how optimized calculations are when testing new AI features in iOS 18, like automatic text summarization or photo editing— the same principle applies to cars. I think the most critical aspects are sensor fusion and safety protocols. If a sensor fails, the system needs to instantly switch to the data from others, or accidents could happen. That’s why hardware and software working in harmony is absolutely crucial.
