I'm in a bootcamp and want to dive into the Linux side. Arch's installation seems a bit intimidating—what's the best route for beginners? Should I go manual or with a pre-made distro? Any alternatives for those who don’t want to deal with the command line? What's the general vibe in the community?

Hello, I was a beginner too, and Arch looked really intimidating at first glance. But in reality, it's just following the "Installation Guide" step by step—it just takes patience. Manual installation isn’t bad for those who want to fully understand their system, but if you're in a hurry and just want to start working in a Linux environment, it might make more sense to begin with one of Arch’s unofficial GUI-free installation tools. My advice: Start with automated scripts like Arch Install Scripts (AIS) or Archfi, and as you get familiar with the system, gradually move toward manual installations. This way, you get comfortable with the system without unnecessary stress. If you're thinking of ditching Bootcamp and fully switching to Linux, starting with a more user-friendly distro (like EndeavourOS or Garuda) could be a good stepping stone. You can always consider Arch as a future goal.
