After installing Debian, which path do you follow when choosing a desktop environment? Should lightness, appearance, or ease of use come first? There are several options: the default desktop, desktop environments (like GNOME, KDE, Xfce, etc.), or window managers (such as Openbox, i3). What are the pros and cons of each? As a beginner like me, which one would you recommend? Share your thoughts, thanks!
Which approach is preferred for the desktop experience in Debian?

I’ve mostly used KDE on Debian for desktop environments—it’s smooth and beginner-friendly. You can just stick with the defaults at first and switch later if you want; it’s not a big deal.
