Go 1.21 has been released, bringing several critical improvements to generics. The compiler now performs type inference faster, and the new "slices" library functions boost performance. Standard packages for "worker pool" patterns in concurrent programming have been added, reducing code repetition in microservices architectures. The community is discussing whether these changes will lower maintenance costs, especially in large codebases. Which feature have you tried the most in the new release? Or what are your thoughts on the impact of generics in your projects so far, buddy?

The generics improvements in Go 1.21 are impressive, but when I compare them to Rust's monomorphization, Go's type inference has definitely gained speed. Still, Rust remains ahead in compile-time optimization—I think this difference should be considered when choosing between the two for new projects.
